external diameter for cars with the 4-cylinder engine: 100 mm
2. Half shaft
there are half shafts of various length depending on transmission type
3. Lock ring
establish in a ring flute on a half shaft (it is not visible at the installed hinge)
4. External CV JOINT
remove only entirely
installation: install the hinge
on a half shaft by means of a kiyanka
so that it was possible
to establish a lock ring
5. Persistent washer
6. Convex washer
7. Hose clip
8. Cover
check for existence of cracks and wear tracks
9. Clip
10. A cover with a cover
check for existence of cracks and wear tracks
remove by means of a mandrel
before installation on the CV JOINT cover a front surface with D3 glue
11. Convex washer
there are 2 types:
1. with internal vents
2. with external vents

when replacing establish a washer of the same type
12. Epiploon
replacement: remove a protective film and paste on the hinge
13. Lock ring

Prevention

Half shaft lubricant on cars with the 4-cylinder engine: grease internal and external HEAS (hinge of equal angular speeds) with 90 grams of G-6 lubricant everyone.

Half shaft (5-cylinder models)

1. Convex washer
there are 2 types:
1. with internal vents
2. with external vents

when replacing establish a washer of the same type
2. Lock ring
establish in a ring flute on a half shaft (it is not visible at the installed hinge)
3. External CV JOINT
remove only entirely
installation: install the hinge on a half shaft by means of a kiyanka so that it was possible to establish a lock ring
4. Persistent washer
5. Convex washer
6. Hose clip
7. Cover
check for existence of cracks and wear tracks
8. Clip
9. Half shaft
10. A cover with a cover
check for existence of cracks and wear tracks
remove by means of a mandrel
before installation on the CV JOINT cover a front surface with D3 glue
11. Internal CV JOINT
external diameter:
for cars with the 4-cylinder engine: 100 mm
for cars with the 5-cylinder engine: 108 mm
Quattro: 100 mm
12. Epiploon
replacement: remove a protective film and paste on the hinge
13. Lock ring

Prevention

Half shaft lubricant on cars with 5-cylinder dvigagely: grease the internal CV JOINT with 120 grams of G6 lubricant and external – 90 grams.

The modified half shaft CV JOINT

1. A half shaft with internal the CV JOINT
is on sale as the spare part
in a set cover and lubricant
grease when replacing a cover
grease with 250 grams of lubricant
G 000 604
2. Clip
stainless steel
always replace
3. Cover
check for existence of cracks and wear
for replacement remove the CV JOINT
for installation grease a fillet on a half shaft a little and accurately put on a cover by means of a plastic wedge
4. Clip
stainless steel
always replace
5. Cover
check for existence of cracks and wear tracks
for installation remove the external CV JOINT
6. Clip
stainless steel
always replace
7. Tightening ring
always replace
establish in a ring flute on the hinge of equal angular speeds
8. External CV JOINT
replace entirely
grease with 90 grams of G 000 602 lubricant: 50 grams on a cover, 40 grams – on the CV JOINT
grease when replacing a cover
installation: install the hinge on a half shaft by means of a kiyanka so that the lock ring got to a ring flute

Convex and persistent washers, provision of installation
1. Lock ring

2. Persistent washer

3. Convex washer

Removal and CV JOINT installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1) tighten a clip
2) at installation the cover can be pressed that at operation of the car can lead further to emergence of folds;
after installation for a second slightly open the end of a cover with a smaller diameter to level pressure inside and outside – such ventilation of a cover will prevent emergence of folds.

3) remove the external CV JOINT:
clamp a half shaft in a vice
remove a cover
twist the special tool until the CV JOINT is removed from a half shaft
4) remove a lock ring internal the CV JOINT

5) remove the internal CV JOINT

6) establish a lock ring internal the CV JOINT:
install the hinge against the stop
establish a lock ring
7) establish a convex washer, note its situation
half shafts with the modified hinges of equal angular speeds are established on cars with the 4-speed automatic transmission 097 and the 130 h.p. engine.
8) tighten clips
9) remove the external CV JOINT:
clamp a half shaft in a vice
remove a cover
10) establish a cover the CV JOINT on a half shaft:
remove the locking ring (it is specified by an arrow)
twist a tool 3207 M16 bolt until the CV JOINT is removed from a half shaft
