8.8.4. Removal and installation of the transmission

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1) disconnect a wire of the negative plug of the accumulator
2) disconnect the socket of connection of a speedometer
3) disconnect the socket of connection of the temperature switch
4) remove the top bolts of fastening of the engine and transmission
5) disconnect the socket of connection of the sensor of oxygen
6) disconnect a wire of grounding of the transmission
7) establish an engine support
8) remove the lower filter of the engine and fastening
9) remove an exhaust pipe
10) disconnect half shafts from the transmission
11) remove starter bolts
12) put a starter sideways and fix by means of a wire
13) remove nuts of fastening of the hydrotransformer (3 pieces)
14) remove the heat-shielding screen of the multipurpose switch
15) disconnect sockets of connection 1, 2 and 3
16) remove a clip a wire from the transmission
17) disconnect tubes of liquid of cooling of the automatic transmission
18) muffle hoses by means of caps, a detail of 357 853 586 V
19) muffle tubes rubber caps, a detail 055 121 324
Prevention

20) establish a support or the suitable elevator under the transmission
21) remove fastenings of the transmission
22) remove a switching lever clip
23) disconnect a rope
24) remove the lower bolts of fastening of the engine / transmission
25) allocate for a half shaft back
26) disconnect the transmission from the engine
27) accurately lower the transmission
28) support the hydrotransformer that it did not fall

Installation

Installation is carried out upside-down removals, at the same time pay attention to the next moments:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1) check that at installation the directing plugs were installed precisely
2) check adjustment of a rope of the lever of gear shifting
3) adjust a rope if it is necessary

Inhaling moment:

Fastening of half shafts to drive flanges 80 N of m.
Bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer 60 N of m.
Bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine (4-cylinder) 55 N of m.

Fastening of an arm of the transmission to the transmission 40 N of m.

Positions A and B – centering plugs

For some transmissions installed on the 5-cylinder engine it is necessary to install the rejecting plug (a detail 012 301 153).

At installation of the new engine, check existence of the plug on cranked to a shaft. This plug has to be installed by the first, before installation of a drive plate.
