10.3. Anti-blocking system of brakes

10.3.1. Work with system of anti-blocking of brakes

GENERAL INFORMATION

The system of anti-blocking of brakes (ABS) generally does not demand service.

High temperature and electric discharges can damage the ABS system.

Disconnect the connection socket from the control unit before use of electric welding at car repairs.

The control unit cannot be subjected to high temperature, it is higher than 95 ° C, such such as, in the furnace for drying of a body after coloring or a blowtorch even for a short time, and also, the control unit cannot be subjected to temperature below – 85 ° C more, than within 2 hours.

Remove the control unit from the car if it is necessary.

When checking ABS do not operate the car at the connected instrumentations.

Check after repair of the brake system

After repair or replacement

– brake shoes;
– brake disks;
– hoses;
– working cylinder;
– elements of the emergency brake;
– pass on the car with a speed more than 6 km/h;
– the alarm bulb should not light up if the ABS system as it should be.

After repair of the ABS elements, such, as

– check ABS by means of a tester.
