The old man Diogenes lived in a flank. Then to this barrel attached wheels, and the Audi-80/90 car turned out... All this, of course, jokes. At the same time folklore nicknames of cars neatly capture their essence. ZAZ-965 – "humpbacked", VAZ-2108 - "chisel", Opel-Kadett of E – "exaggerated"...

In Germany Audi-80 was considered as generally "ladies'". Among the main competitors of Audi-80 in the market not of new cars it is possible to consider Mercedes-190, Ford-Skorpio and Volkswagen Passat. Money approximately the same. The age difference will make no more than two years in this or that party – for the used car "with a name" it not essentially.

Losing to "Mercedes" from the image point of view a little, Audi-80 is considered more sports, than Volkswagen, and more prestigious, than Skorpio. It – as buffet from mahogany in a drawing room: modestly, but with taste. The solid and unpretentious car for daily trips around the city.

Personally I very much like Audi salon. Even it is more, than deliberately ascetic salon Mercedes-190. It is in personal "table of ranks" behind BMW salon at once. First, everything very functionally and elaborately, secondly, just beautifully and elegantly. Special distinctive feature – the abundance of shelves and glove compartments allowing to carry with itself the mass of the useful trifles occupying a half of a luggage carrier of Zhiguli on volume.

If to spend for searches of the necessary car it is a little more than time and means, then it is possible to get a copy with a complete set of additional "options" – the electric hatch, glasses, heating of seats. In sense of ensuring comfort of Audi always was among leaders.

You will manage to buy Audi-80 through official dealers hardly. There are two options – or to overtake the car from Western Europe independently, or to look for it according to announcements and among acquaintances. It is possible to address services of professional "driver" of used cars also. In this case the price increases approximately for $500 depending on a route of delivery of the car to your entrance.

Among car owners the Audi brand is well-known first of all for the anticorrosive processing. Really, the galvanized body shows surprising firmness in our climate. In the natural way these cars rust seldom. But any medal has a reverse side – if the car was exposed to complex body repair in handicraft conditions and places of welding were not processed properly, then process of corrosion goes in these parts with frightening speed and can extend to all body. At the choice of the car we recommend to pay for it special attention.

Many owners are involved also by availability of service and relative low cost of spare parts which can be got both in company shops, and according to announcements through specialized editions. From experience one of the Moscow firms which is engaged in diagnostics and repair of various units in the Audi cars, the list of the most widespread problems which owners of the 80th model handle on service looks as follows: malfunction of system of electronic injection of fuel, replacement of forward shock-absorbers, replacement of steering rod ends, malfunction of the pump of the cooling system of the engine – in a popular speech of "pomp", replacement of the electric sensor of turning on of the fan, coupling replacement.

Mechanics of this firm consider that bad quality of domestic gasoline is the reason of failure of system of injection and recommend to all owners to use the special additives to fuel increasing octane number. Otherwise replacement of injectors and full diagnostics of the engine will rise in $150–200. And finally true-life story. One acquaintance bought few months ago Audi 80. Together with car from the first owner it got an array of problems – the "beating" rubber, badly adjusted engine, the "knocking" suspension bracket. Good intentions to bring the car into a normal look already long break against chronic laziness. And the car goes to itself and goes.
